Over the years I’ve learned that friendships don’t always last. Sometimes those separations are for the best but it’s never easy to breakup with a girlfriend. As I get older I am more selective of the people I choose to have in my life. Following my separation in 2014 I found comfort and support in the handful of women whom I call friends. I can’t imagine not having them in my life.
It’s why Bliss B4 Laundry intrigues me. The concept is the brainchild of, former United Nations worker, Gabriela Flores and her partner, education consultant, Sarah Hutchison. The pair have started wellness weekends for women to help them unwind from their busy lives and create a sisterhood throughout the province. Each bliss weekend is different, catered to its surroundings and the community of women in a specific area. What remains the same is the act of cooking meals together. This communal exercise is one of the most intimate throughout the weekend, participants drink wine, share stories and create delicious creations under the guidance of Flores. She says “people are shocked by just how good vegan, gluten-free food tastes.” The reviews on their Facebook page are overwhelmingly positive”
“Three days of fun, joy, inspiration, great food and great collection of women.”

“I feel changed in so many positive ways. I hope to share the experience with my daughters.”

I had a chance to chat with Flores about why Bliss B4 Laundry is making a difference in women’s lives.
